Customs and VAT refund

When entering Mexico you must declare if you are carrying goods above the allowed limits (personal baggage, gifts, purchases). There are green (nothing to declare) and red (declare) channels.

In some countries you can claim a VAT refund on purchases made as a tourist. In Mexico the applicable rules depend on the type of purchase and tax scheme; check before travelling abroad if you plan to claim refunds.
